Merry Christmas!

22 Dec

Dear Family and Friends,

So, do you like the blog option for a Christmas letter? I was proud of my resourcefulness. Ha! What do you think of the Christmas theme? Nice? Okay, on with the letter…

For the second year in a row, I’ve missed my deadline for sending Christmas cards. As some of you know, I like to send my cards out the weekend that follows Thanksgiving. Today is December 22. Oops. It’s been a recent realization that the talk about time going faster the older you get isn’t just something that old people say. It’s really true. Between family time, a job transition and moving, I hardly had time to eat!

Tyler and his wife, Katrina, arrived back in the states with Ella (my favorite niece) in tow, last December. I didn’t realize how much I had missed them until they returned. Oh, and having a niece was a fun, new experience, as well. They spent the entire year in Kentucky. On December 11, they left for London. After which, they’ll head back to Australia and then on to China. Though it was sad to see them leave, I know that their desire to spread the Good News to the people of China will be greatly rewarded.

My professional path has seen a lot of change this past year, as well. New West kept me very busy the first half of the year. I got to travel to Orlando and Las Vegas for events. Though tiring, it afforded me the chance to get to know some of my co-workers a little better. It was opportunities like these that made my decision to leave New West a very painful one.

This past June, I joined DBS>Interactive as their new Director of Client Services. DBS is an interactive agency that works strictly in Web (design, development, marketing, etc.). We can do anything that happens through a browser (I wonder if a statement like that adds any clarity). The past six months have certainly had its share of challenges, but challenges are what cause us to grow. So I can’t complain!

The job transition was not my only major change this year. The lease to my apartment was up in August! So, after much prayer and consideration…and a little help from my brother…I decided to move. A friend of Tyler’s was moving to Tennessee and having trouble selling his home in J-town. Tyler mentioned that I was in the market. Everything seemed to work out perfectly. I moved in Labor Day weekend.

At the end of October, I had a friend move in with me. I had the space and the house was somewhat lonely with just me and Jake occupying it. Again the situation seemed to work out perfectly.

Well, that about covers all the major events of this past year. Who knows what this next year will look like!! I hope this past year went well for each of you! I look forward to keeping in touch!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
